🤧 Cold or flu — how can you tell the difference?
With winter bugs on the rise, knowing whether you’re dealing with a common cold or influenza can make all the difference in how you treat it — and how fast you recover.
🧠 Here’s a quick guide:
💨 Cold = gradual onset, mild symptoms, and manageable at home.
🌡️ Flu = sudden onset, high fever, body aches, and a higher risk of complications like pneumonia or sinus infections.
⚠️ See a doctor if:
Your child is under 6 months with a fever
They’re refusing food or fluids
They’re not improving or seem unusually tired
You have a worsening cough, sore throat, or high fever that won’t ease up
