I am a Lead Maternity Carer midwife - LMC - based in Gore with my husband and together we have four children. My goal as your midwife is to make sure you have the best pregnancy, birth and postnatal experience possible. Midwifery is more than a career, it is a unique opportunity to work with women and their families sharing knowledge, respect and information. My practice is tailored to each woman's own journey, based on supporting normal physiology, current research and best practice. I enjoy supporting women and their families through normal healthy pregnancies, and the not so normal when we can work with other health professionals to ensure both you and baby are well in pregnancy. I support women to birth at home, Gore Hospital and Invercargill Hospital and fully support waterbirth. My midwifery partner and I work together to ensure you have full care available at all times. As an Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) midwife I provide midwifery related care for pregnancy and the first six weeks following the birth of your baby/babies based on the latest evidence-informed midwifery practices. Within my role I work closely with other health providers whom I may refer to in circumstances which can arise during pregnancy with your consent. Throughout your pregnancy any issue for referral will be discussed in full with you ensuring any choices or decisions you make are based on full information disclosure.
