Ka mihi to our Kai Tu team Barry, Shaun, Kai and Abby for the positive outcomes for our Kia Tu Akonga

At Niagara, we are proud to support the Kia Tū Programme, an initiative that empowers young people and second-chance learners to explore career pathways and build confidence in their future direction.

Recently, we welcomed a Kia Tū cohort on-site for a tour led by our Recruitment Coordinator, Jemma, to show students what working at Niagara involves. The visit gave them a clear, first-hand look at the roles, environment, and expectations in our industry.

We have already seen the positive impact this programme can have — former Kia Tū student Neko Tai is now part of our team, operating in the cutline. A great example of how exposure to the workplace can lead to real job opportunities.

A big thank you to all involved in the Kia Tū programme for your partnership, and the students who brought such great energy to the day. We are excited to continue supporting the development of local talent and helping build meaningful employment pathways.

Another Rangatahi Holiday Programme done and dusted. Thank you to all the awesome Rangatahi who come and joined us. These holidays we did Poi & Waiata with Whaea Jaki, Sports & Swimming at the MLT Sports Centre, Arts, Crafts & Baking at the Runanga and finished the programme with a Movie at St James ☺️

We rely on the help of community funding and contribution to run this programme and we would like to thank Mataura Licensing Trust, Hokonui Hauora Fund, Gore New World, Pizza Hut and Gore Subway
