Private & small group/Corporate Yoga classes by arrangement. I am a trained Yoga teacher in Purna Yoga, Byron Yoga Centre, (Iyengar -based Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga), Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Yoga Therapy, Bliss Baby Prenatal Yoga, Rainbow Kids Yoga, Family Yoga, Chakra Balancing, Lymphatic Drainage, Emotional & Physical Healing Therapies including differing styles of Meditation. (Journey Practitioner - The Journey Method - Brandon Bays). Yoga is a lot about giving and receiving. It has been proposed that we only keep what we have by giving it away, which is one of the main motivations for teaching and training others to teach. The yoga taught at Byron Yoga Centre is called Purna, meaning integrated or complete. Purna Yoga represents a holistic approach to yoga integrating not just the physical postures but also philosophy, meditation, pranayama breath control and the yogic personal and social code of ethics. The postural instruction is alignment focused. Sequences range from gentle restorative to dynamic vinyasa. "We seek to integrate all 8 limbs (Ashtanga) of yoga the way it was originally taught, more than 3000 years ago in India. Yoga asanas, or postures, are just one of these limbs. The other limbs are equally important, including meditation, pranayama breath control, and the personal and social code of ethics, the yamas and niyamas. The practice of yoga is intended to be joyful and to lighten the heart and mind by calming and energising. We encourage students at all levels to build flexibility, strength and stamina of body, mind and spirit. Yoga philosophies, such as ahimsa (non violence), are threaded throughout our classes. This helps bring about a deeper understanding of the key yogic values including diet and lifestyle aspirations. Many Byron Yoga Centre teacher trainees discover, as a consequence, that yoga becomes for them a way of life." - John Ogilvie, Byron Yoga Centre

“If the shadow of the earth comes between the full moon and sun there is an eclipse. If the feeling of ‘I’ and ‘mine’ casts its shadow upon the experience of fullness, all efforts of the sadhaka to gain peace are futile.” - B K S Iyengar, Light on Yoga.

Do This for 10 Minutes to Calm Your Nervous System

Lying on your back with the soles of your feet together and your knees falling open places your hips in gentle external rotation. This passively lengthens your inner thighs and reduces tension pulling on your pelvis.

When the adductors relax, the pelvis can settle. Less pull on the pelvis means less unnecessary tension in the lower back. Your lumbar spine doesn’t have to guard or brace. It can finally relax.

Now add slow nasal breathing.

This position combined with controlled breathing shifts you into parasympathetic mode. Heart rate drops. Muscle tone decreases. Your body moves from stress into recovery.

With your legs elevated and relaxed, venous blood and lymphatic fluid can circulate more easily. That heavy, tight feeling in the lower body starts to fade.

Open hips. Settled pelvis. Relaxed lower back. Calm nervous system.

Do this for 5–10 minutes before bed and let your body reset.

Quran is we have everything we need

——————————

The universe is teaching us how to listen and meet our own needs before others.

I felt for my own learning, to break fully down as experiences are the lessons of the universe, teaching us to make better choices and know our own limitations and trust intuitions.

To live Fully and not live like a Fool.

Such a good wall stretch 🙏😇🙌🏽

“One has to find the median line of each asana so that the energy is properly distributed. When one wavers from the median line, then one goes either to the past or the future. Vertical ascending is the future; vertical descending is the past. The horizontal is the present. The present is the perfect asana. When you open horizontally, the future and past meet in the present. This is how dynamic extension and expansion allow you to find balance and live more fully in the present through your body. In asana, we find balance and integration in the three dimensions of space, but we also find balance and integration in the fourth dimension of time.”

The A to Z of Yoga starting with my first practice as a 14 yo jockey and former ballet dancer/gymnast.

Astanga yoga is hard, due to its physically demanding, repetitive sequence of postures, the requirement for significant endurance and flexibility, and the mental fortitude needed to face physical limitations and frustration.

The structured, disciplined, and consistent nature of the practice, designed to build mental and physical strength, can feel daunting, especially for beginners.

Commitment 6 days a week minimum 3 hours per day.
