When it comes to everyday life, Granger House makes it easy with rest home, hospital, and respite care. Our facility van is also always on hand for outings.

The well-appointed rooms all look out onto sheltered courtyards or landscaped gardens and come complete with a 24-hour call system and WiFi. Part of the close-knit West Coast town of Greymouth, Granger House is set amongst beautifully landscaped gardens, just a short drive from the town centre. We offer everything from hairdressing to speech therapy, physiotherapy, and podiatry. We have a range of recreational activities including board games, happy hour, gardening, crafts, cooking and indoor bowls.

Families joined residents and staff at Highfield Lifecare for a community garden day, turning the soil to prepare for this year’s planting. It was a hands-on afternoon full of teamwork, conversation, and care. The garden’s now ready for spring, and the connections made will last even longer.

A recent bake sale at Te Wiremu Lifecare raised funds to support two students from Gisborne Intermediate attending their school trip to Rarotonga! Their trip has been filled with excitement and gratitude. Updates from the students have been shared with the home, and the whole community is proud to have played a part. A small act of kindness with a big ripple effect.

Clutha Views Lifecare celebrated Father’s Day with live music, dancing, and a special afternoon tea. Residents and their families gathered to honour the men in their lives, with plenty of toe-tapping and shared stories along the way. A heartwarming occasion full of connection and pride.

Residents from Clutha Views Lifecare visited a nearby farm to meet a group of curious newborn calves. Bundled up against the spring chill, they enjoyed getting up close with the animals and taking in the fresh rural air. It was a gentle, grounding outing, and a lovely way to start the season.

Residents from George Manning Lifecare enjoyed a hands-on visit to Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, where they met a friendly sheep, curious reptiles, and a slow-moving tortoise. The outing sparked plenty of smiles, and a few new animal friendships. A relaxed and engaging day out in nature.

Highfield Lifecare hosted a bright and elegant Daffodil Day celebration, complete with high tea, photo booth fun, and sunny-themed dress-ups. Residents and staff added their own flair to the occasion, supporting a vital cause with style and spirit.

Staff at Telford Lifecare have taken up the Around the Mountain Challenge, tracking their daily kilometres throughout September to reach 156 km collectively. The challenge has sparked light-hearted competition, with others joining in by placing gold coin bets on the contenders. All funds raised support Blue September and prostate cancer awareness!

Princes Court Lifecare marked Daffodil Day with a colourful karaoke party and a standout afternoon tea. Residents joined in the fun with bright outfits and bold singing, while the kitchen team served up treats that were as eye-catching as they were delicious. A lively afternoon filled with personality and purpose.

At Karina Lifecare, residents turned designers for a month-long wearable arts project. Their creations, made with flair and imagination, were modelled by staff in a joyful in-house runway show. The event celebrated artistic expression and teamwork, and every outfit told its own story.

World Chocolate Day saw Broadview residents experimenting with sweet pairings, dipping treats into melted chocolate. Dates covered in chocolate were declared the clear winner!

Annie Brydon Lifecare was transformed into a carnival wonderland for four days of games, laughter, and shared joy. Residents, staff, and families embraced the fun, playing classic carnival games like ring toss and darts, and even wrangling our own carnival animals. With festive decorations, a cheerful big top, and lots of friendly competition, this special event brought warmth to the heart of winter.
