Proudly helping spruce up Hokitika centre. Getting ready for Matariki weekend.
- Pruning Banksia trees.
- Removal of deadwood.
- Clear road and footpath.
- 10% Canopy reduction and thin.
The flowers on these trees provide an important winter food source for native birds. Nectar feeders like Tui and bell birds. Great to see and hear in the town cbd!
While specs for works had to be met, all care was taken to preserve as much tree canopy as possible to preserve this food source.
