Ngā mihi o te tau hou whānau!
We hope you have had a safe and enjoyable holiday period. It's great to get back into the flow of things again, as we do, don't forget it's ok if things are slow to get going. Be kind to yourself and to others.

This year, our goal is to be more present and to be more vocal on issues and struggles we go through. If there is anything in particular you would like us to review or create, let us know, after all, we are here for you.

Today's call for MHAW is Takohatia ki tēhahi - Connect through kindness. When we do something nice for someone else, no matter how big or small, it does wonders for our own well-being. Connecting through kindness can be in the form of a smile to a passerby, giving a mate hand moving or even sharing uplifting thoughts on social media. We could use more kindness in the world.

This week news of a beloved brother's tragic and untimely passing hit our team. We have been taking the time to process our emotions and feelings so we can be in the best place to help our other brothers and sisters understand his departure from us. Although we don't have all the answers, we do have aroha (love) and will awhi (embrace) those that need the extra support.
We will all face trying times in our lives but we will also face peace and comfort. In our times of peace, seek out those who are finding it tough and lend a hand, an ear, a shoulder. You never know who's life you might save!
