πŸ’« Comparisons are a one way ticket to unhappiness ✨

My friend mentioned that they were struggling with a relationship break up but often looked at me and thought, "she looks like she's got her life together, I should too".

Yet, holy moley, I stopped mid step and had to tell her the feelings of loneliness, sadness, anxiety and fatigue that I've felt often in my days.

Comparing your situation to other people's, doesn't allow you to validate your feelings that your body seriously wants you to feel.
Comparing situations is like picking up a shovel and digging your hole a little deeper.... It only make you feel more empty inside.

Allowing your body to process and feel the feelings from events that happen in your life, will allow you to walk towards a new future without projecting the unprocessed emotions and feelings from your past experiences.

Sometimes when we walk into situations that make us feel instantly uncomfortable, our main response is to quickly retreat or to suffocate the feelings that are trying to bubble up.

The more beneficial and kinder approach to our bodies in these instances is to actually sit in those situations for an extra few seconds or minutes and ask ourselves 2 questions:
1) What am I feeling right now?
2) What is it that I might be needing in this moment?

Doing this allows the energy of our feelings to process through our bodies. It's when these energies aren't seen, heard and felt, that they become real problems to our health.

I know that mind of yours seems somewhat uncontrollable sometimes, especially when those intrusive thoughts ni**le at you when you think you're tamed it.

But, we can train our mind.

We can train it to see the positives or the negatives - even when an intrusive thought sneaks up on us. We just have to see the intrusive thought as a positive and get curious about it. We need to ask it curiously positive questions like: "What are you here to teach me... what do you want me to see or learn?"

Because how you view the world is your choice, so you get to decide whether you want to view it as a negative or a positive.

What a great morning it was this morning to be able to be with the midwives at River Ridge East Birth Centre and listen to Bev Hampton (an incredibly knowledgeable physio) and the ladies from She Moves, Birthmark Sisterhood: C-Section Recovery , Koru Movement - Feldenkrais Method in Hamilton NZ and BRSW Pre & Postnatal Fitness. But also to share with our hard working midwives, what has to offer to our pre and post natal women πŸ₯°

Our Story

My name is Merryn. I'm a Reiki and Emotion Code Practitioner.

I'm also a Mum of 2. 2019 was an incredibly horrific year for me. I reached the bottom of the barrel when I lost my son at 24.4 weeks gestation after a traumatic labour and birth. This caused ripple effects in my mental health, with emotions coming to the surface in horrible ways, which hadn't been properly dealt with, from significant past events. This was up until I found Reiki and The Emotion Code.

These techniques can help you find your inner peace too.
