NAU MAI KI TE PAE O UENUKU & KOU He Rourou Oranga.
Uenuku & Kou He Rourou Oranga is a family owned business deriving in the field of traditional and contemporary holistic wellness. Established in March 2022 by my husband Whatumoana Tahana-Morgan King-Te Wherowhero and myself after the passing of my father Koro Charles Hone Pumupi Charles Tahana, who died of Covid-19.
My father and I had a shared dream to help our whaanau rid the illnesses of our time that we carry by returning back to the traditional way of self-healing through te taha wairua, hinengaro and tinana.
My father was the last of his generation, a strong believer and advocate of wairua Maaori, whakapapa, hiitori, tikanga and rongoaa Maaori handed down and taught to him by his forebears.
"E kore teenei oranga e huri ki tua o aku mokopuna."
Uenuku & Kou He Rourou Oranga are proud to say, that our dream has now come to fruition and my husband and I would love to share our journey of self-healing through our traditional and contemporary methods of healing with you all.
"Me he pai moo te tangata, mahia atu."
UENUKU & KOU HE ROUROU ORANGA
The naming of Uenuku & Kou He Rourou Oranga is taken from The Bible and our greatgreatgreatgreatgreat grandfather, the first Maaori King, Kiingi Pootatau Te Wherowhero who also uses the saying from The Bible, The Book of Genesis, Chapter 9, Verses 8-17.
8: Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him:
9: βI now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you
10: and with every living creature that was with youβthe birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with youβevery living creature on earth.
11: I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.β
12: And God said, βThis is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:
13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
14: Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,
15: I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
16: Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.β
17: So God said to Noah, βThis is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.β
KOU

Te Taha Wairua - We draw upon the wisdom of our tuupuna through karakia to guide us in all aspects of our mahi.
Te Taha Hinengaro - We sit and discuss with you any illnesses or sicknesses that you may have. We will then make recommendations of rongoaa Maaori that we are accustomed to for you to take either internally or externally.
Te Taha Tinana - Through mirimiri, Purupuru Kooiwi, Takahi, Tootoo, (a few of my grandmother, Huirangi Matenga's many techniques of self-healing) we release the bodies tension to enable the flow of rongoaa Maaori that has been recommended for you to take.
Our CONTEMPORARY aspects of our business:
We combine rongoaa Maaori with essential oils to create aromatherapy that possess a wide range of restorative properties to maintain your health and wellbeing.
