Fat free = healthier...right!? No
Organic = healthiest though, aye? No
What about reduced sugar? Not entirely, but you're on to something!
Hot chocolates are defs a vibe during the colder season but have you ever considered other components of your fav hot drink other than what you see on the label?
Let's keep it simple...
🟢Fat-free hot chocolates don't change the calories or sugar content of these hot drinks, which both have a greater impact on overall health. Plus, the fat content is very similar across both standard hot drinks and fat-free and sugar-free alternatives.
🟢An organic hot chocolate does not make a product any healthier than a non-organic product. The base ingredient (cocoa) is still the same calories. Plus, not everyone has the privilege to get behind some of these awesome causes. Work within your budget.
🟢Reduced sugar does not mean it is healthy BUT it can be a better alternative. E.g., standard milo vs reduced sugar milo only has a 30% difference in sugar - 9g (~2 tsp) sugar vs 6g (1.5 tsp), which isn't a very big difference if we're comparing like for like.
Explore an option that aligns with your health, goals and taste preferences. In all honestly, I 100% rate milo but for a better almost daily alternative, I love Jarrah's hot chocolate. What's yours?
