👉Do you have high cholesterol?

You may be eligible to take part in this study if you are at least 18 years of age, have high cholesterol and have had a major cardiovascular event.

🌿 This clinical research study is testing an investigational medication in adults to learn how it works to lower cholesterol compared with a placebo. The placebo looks like the investigational medication but contains no active ingredients.

🌿 Researchers will also study how well participants tolerate taking the investigational medication and whether it reduces cardiovascular events.

Gout flares breaking your stride?

We are looking for people who have gout to join our study investigating a new medication which could reduce gout flares and eliminate tophi.

If you are interested in taking part in the EURELIA 2 Study, we are searching for people who:

- Have gout or a history of gout
- Have high uric acid levels
- Are aged between 18 and 85 years

For those that may visit our clinic, we introduce to you our principal and sub investigator, Dr. Victoria Siriett. 👏

Born in Gisborne/Tūranganui-a-Kiwa, Victoria went on to pursue a Science degree, and later her PhD from Waikato University. Not wanting to stop there, she achieved her MBChB from the University of Auckland before making her way back to Gisborne, dedicating her skills to general practice and hospice care - Ka rawe koe, e Victoria! 🎓

And now? Victoria embraced the opportunity to blend her love for science with medicine, leading her back to Waikato in the field of clinical research here at Lakeland Clinical Trials Waikato 🌱 🧬 With her dedication, experience, and skill, Victoria will ensure you are provided with the best care possible during your time with us.

There is more to Victoria than her Doctor’s coat though. You’ll find her spending time tending to her vegetable garden, or out and about biking and walking with her puppy Teina on her time off. To recharge, Victoria enjoys spending time with her whānau.

Introducing Dr. Tiwini Hemi! The proud owner of Lakeland Clinical Trials Waikato. 👏

Not only does Dr. Hemi have over 30 years experience as a general practitioner, but he also is passionate about shaping the future of our healthcare.

Recognising an opportunity to be at the front of medical advancements, he undertook additional training in clinical practice processes, enabling him to adeptly run and manage medical trials. With the opportunity to join PCRN in their ambitions of clinical research, he was excited to broaden the scope of his medical practice.

Outside the clinical setting you’ll find Dr. Hemi either spending time with his two grandsons, or enjoying hands-on activities in his workshop, either metalworking, woodworking or tinkering with cars! 🚗🛠

We're proud to be under the guidance and vision of Dr. Hemi in our research journey here and are excited to see what contributions we can make.
