Something that really annoyed me today when I parked outside Subway Taupiri was how quick the lady that was getting into the car parked beside me was to comment on another women's body shape. While she might feel there is nothing wrong with saying what she did I feel it in no way helps the person being judged in anyway. What we also don't know is the reason/s why people have the body shape they do & possibly how hard they are trying to make a change for the better or how they are feeling about themselves.

I did say to her we need to be kind to each other & be a person who makes others feel good. I do hope she thinks about what she did say & is able to create a difference if she is in the same situation again.

Hello, Monday!

Time to kickstart the week with some healthy eating habits.

If you've decided to start a new diet today, I'm here with some tips to make your journey easier and more consistent.

Consistency is key!

Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will your diet be. Start by making small, achievable goals and build on them as you go. It's all about forming long-lasting healthy habits rather than going for quick fixes.

Plan your meals in advance.

Take some time to decide what you'll be eating for the week. This will help you make healthier choices and avoid impulsive decisions when hunger strikes. Plus, it saves you time and stress during your busier days!

Opt for easy recipes.

When you're starting a new diet, keep it simple. Look for recipes that require fewer ingredients and have shorter preparation times. This way, you'll be more likely to stick to your plan and avoid feeling its all too much.

Stock your pantry with healthy snacks.

Don't let temptation get in the way of your progress. Fill your pantry and fridge with nourishing snacks like fresh fruits, cut-up veggies, yogurt, or nuts. These easy-to-grab options will keep you satisfied between meals and prevent unhealthy cravings.

Find a diet buddy.

Starting a new diet can be challenging, but having someone to share the journey with makes it more fun and motivating. Find a friend, family member, or coworker who has similar goals, and support each other throughout the process. You can exchange recipe ideas, workout tips, or simply be each other's cheerleaders.

Remember, the key to success is taking it one day at a time. Don't beat yourself up over small slip-ups; instead, focus on progress and celebrate your achievements along the way.

We all know life can get crazy busy, but let's not forget the incredible importance of getting a good night's sleep. It's not just about feeling refreshed – sleep plays a vital role in our overall well-being.

Here are some quick tips for a better night's sleep:

Consistent Schedule

Try to stick to a regular sleep schedule, even on weekends. This helps regulate your body's internal clock.

Create a Peaceful Environment

Make your sleep space comfortable and relaxing. Dim the lights, reduce noise, and keep your room cool.

Limit Screen Time

The blue light from phones and tablets can interfere with melatonin production. Try to avoid screens an hour before bed.

Watch What You Eat

Avoid heavy meals and caffeine close to bedtime. Opt for light snacks if you're hungry before sleep.

Stay Active

Regular exercise can promote better sleep, but try to finish your workout a few hours before bedtime.

Mindfulness and Relaxation

Engage in calming activities like reading, meditation, or gentle stretching to wind down.

Stay Hydrated

While it's good to stay hydrated, avoid excessive liquids before bed to prevent nighttime awakenings.

Remember, quality sleep is essential for your physical health, mental clarity, and emotional well-being. So let's prioritize sleep and wake up ready to conquer each day!
