A Heartfelt Farewell from Animal Breeding Services
Today marks the end of an incredible chapter for Animal Breeding Services. After nearly three decades of dedication to the livestock breeding industry, ABS is closing its doors. It’s a bittersweet moment as we reflect on the journey that began in 1996, right here in Hamilton.
For 28 years, we have proudly provided world-class reproductive technologies, supporting farmers, breeders, and agricultural communities across New Zealand and beyond. From our IVP laboratory producing thousands of embryos each year to our export-accredited semen centre, our mission has always been to deliver excellence in animal breeding.
But beyond the numbers, ABS has been about people—our dedicated team, our loyal clients, and our industry partners. To our staff, past and present, thank you for your passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment. Your hard work has been the backbone of this company. To our clients and partners, we are deeply grateful for your trust and support over the years. It has been an honour to be part of your breeding programmes and to help shape the future of livestock genetics.
While today is the end of ABS, the legacy of our work will live on through the animals we have helped bring into the world, the advancements we have contributed to in the industry, and the friendships we have built along the way.
