Our Taakiri Tuu Wellness & Diagnostic Centre, Chae Phillips (Ngāti Rongomaiwahine), is one of this year's Māori Cancer Researcher Awards recipients - a partnership between Te Kāhui Matepukupuku o Aotearoa (the Cancer Society of New Zealand) and Hei Āhuru Mōwai Māori Cancer Leadership for Open Culture Aotearoa.

Chae is focusing her PhD on improving access to care and the experiences of wāhine Māori diagnosed with symptomatic breast cancer in Waikato.

Simply amazing Chae!

Chae Phillips, who just got a PhD scholarship, lost her mother to cancer as a child, and remembers how exclusionary the process was for her whānau.
