Fairfield Medical Centre first opened with two GPs on Howden Road, Fairfield in 1949. In 1976, we moved to the existing premises, as bigger rooms were needed when a third partner joined the medical centre. This purpose built building now has eight GPs, seven practice nurses and eight administration staff. We offer a wide range of services and aim to maintain patient satisfaction at all times. We provide quality family health care with an emphasis on finding diseases and promoting good health. Please one appointment per person. A doctor and nurse are always on duty during our opening hours. Car parking is available to patients at the rear of the medical center building. Please enter the car park from Heaphy Terrace and enter the building through the front entrance. Doctors currently working at FMC

A full daytime road closure of Heaphy Terrace (between the roundabout and Alfred Street) for two days from Tuesday, 3 February 2026.
(6am–8pm) on Tuesday 3 February and Wednesday 4 February (weather dependent).

· Southbound lane closed during the day (6am – 8pm) on Monday 2 February.

· Full 24-hour closure on Tuesday 3 February and Wednesday 4 February.

· Northbound lane closed during the day (6am – 8pm) on Thursday 5 February.

· Heaphy Terrace fully reopens during the day (6am – 8pm) from Friday 6 February.
