Don't let last season's niggles become this season's problems 🏃♀️
Pre-season checks aren't just for your gear - your body needs a tune-up too. Our physios can assess movement patterns, check those lingering issues, and build a plan to keep you on the field all season long.
Start strong, not sidelined 💪🧡

We're excited to introduce Marley! With a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy), Marley works across vocational rehabilitation and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, bringing passion to paediatrics, sport, and helping clients get back to what matters most.
Marley's approach is all about tailoring treatment to each person's lifestyle and goals – finding practical, realistic solutions that help people overcome barriers and keep moving forward.
When she's not helping clients, you'll find Marley on the hockey field, out for a run, or indulging her creative side through baking and art.
We're thrilled to have Marley on board and can't wait for you to meet her 🧡

MYTH VS FACT 🤔
MYTH: If you leak urine, your pelvic floor muscles are weak
FACT: Your pelvic floor can leak for multiple reasons!
✨ Overactive/tight muscles - Sometimes pelvic floor muscles are TOO tense and can't relax properly, causing leakage
✨ Coordination issues - Muscles might be strong but not activating at the right time
✨ Intra-abdominal pressure - How you manage pressure matters as much as muscle strength
✨Muscle weakness - Yes, this CAN be a cause but it's not the only one!
The takeaway? Doing endless Kegels isn't always the answer. If you're experiencing leakage, see a pelvic floor physical therapist who can assess YOUR specific situation - like Laura!
Your pelvic floor deserves personalised care, not guesswork! 💪🧡

🏐 Exciting research news! Our own Barry and Amanda were co-authors (alongside others) on a recently published study exploring landing position mechanics in netball.
This research was part of Barry’s honours programme and investigated ACL injuries in netball players - a common concern in the sport. Using VALD force decks (the same technology we use in our clinics!), the team measured joint and knee forces during turns in the air.
Barry shares: “I’ve always been interested in netball, having coached and played for several years. When the opportunity arose during my honours studies to research ACL injuries in netball players, I jumped at the chance. It was fascinating to combine my passion for sports physiotherapy with my love of netball and jumping mechanics - and I learnt so much along the journey.”
Congratulations to Barry, Amanda, and the wider research team on this valuable contribution to netball safety and performance 🎉
Upcoming public holiday hours ✨ Both of our clinics will be closed for Waitangi Day, Friday 6th Feb 🧡
