From Thursday 7 May, session fees will be as follows:

☯️ Initial consultation incl. assessment and treatment: $100.00
☯️ Follow up treatment: $95.00
☯️ Induction of Labour treatment: $100.00
☯️ Turning a breech baby incl. moxibustion: $120.00

My work is deeply informed by nearly 20 years of midwifery experience and 16 years practicing Acuneedling, supporting women through pregnancy, birth and beyond.

This change allows me to continue offering thoughtful, individualised care to each person I see.

Today I celebrated International Midwives Day with our wonderful midwifery ākonga and my beautiful colleagues 🩷

I shared the story of a recent birth - a reminder of how meaningful, sacred, and important this work truly is.

Especially in these challenging times, this calling MATTERS.
How babies enter the world MATTERS.
How women experience birth MATTERS.

Finally some good news - THE MIDWIVES WON!! 🙌🙌🙌
(That only took 10yrs of fighting incl. court but we are a resilient tribe!)
One day there shall be equity, recognition for our hard work and fair pay - still a long road ahead- but today is a celebration!

Time for a break – it’s been a MASSIVE but great year!!

✨ Postgraduate Certificate in Midwifery Practice completed! Woohoo!
My geeky side loved diving into the latest research to strengthen evidence-based practice, deepening my understanding of Te Ao Māori, and growing as an official Midwifery Educator.

✨ Teaching undergraduate midwifery students at Wintec - let’s make the world a better place, one midwife at a time.

✨ Supporting many women and babies through Maternity Acupuncture at my weekly clinic based at River Ridge East Birth Centre - helping whānau achieve their optimal pregnancy, birthing and postnatal journey.

✨ Putting the “midwife hat” on during clinical shifts and homebirths, supporting whānau and colleagues - my much-needed oxytocin fix!

✨ Speaking at antenatal classes, sharing kōrero about maternity acupuncture and opening up conversations around safe, effective, drug-free therapy options.

✨ Podcast recording with world-famous Claire Eccleston Midwife and Ingula Rin from Midwives of the Apocalypse - sharing my midwifery experience with Médecins Sans Frontières in Africa. Watch this space for its release on Spotify!

How do Midwives celebrate Christmas together? ✨
By making muka ties for the pēpi in our care - and so we can teach the whānau we support!

I’ve been using muka ties for baby’s pito almost exclusively for many years. Their healing properties are incredible - gentle on baby’s skin, they help the cord fall off naturally within days, and they can be returned to Papatūānuku without polluting our planet. 🌿💚

A huge thank you to River Ridge East Birth Centre for organising this beautiful wānanga, and to the amazing Hapū Wānanga team for sharing your wisdom. I absolutely loved it. So good to see you all! ❤️
