It has been awesome to have our group kids back again this week. We missed you! And we have our new signs up and we are loving them.

Over the last few years, we have undertaken a journey of reflection, planning for the future and transforming services. We have met with families and had a planning day with the whole team. We have worked with local groups and iwi and have determined that a new name is part of our way forward, along with some changes to how we work. These changes may not be things that are entirely obvious to our families or our community looking in, but have been transformative and we believe will ensure that we are providing the best possible opportunities to get great outcomes for the tamariki and whaanau we work with.

As of January 2025, Conductive Education Waikato will be known as Wana Tamariki Trust. Wana means to bud, shoot, come to life, seedling or young shoot. It also means to be exciting, stimulating, thrilling and moving. It is about having excitement, passion and energy. We believe that this is a very good fit for our tamariki and whaanau and is how we want to work moving forward. Ngati Wairere supported us in the process to find our new name and we are especially indebted to them for this. There are many things we want to achieve in 2025 under our new look and we look forward to sharing these with you as the next year unfolds. We would love to hear your thoughts about our new look and we will be rolling this out from early 2025.

An awesome opportunity to spend a morning with a man doing awesome mahi, both professionally and personally. The bonus is you also support the New Zealand Foundation for Conductive Education in their work too. Please share with anyone you know in Christchurch and people who would travel to hear Sir Wayne Smith.

The revered rugby coach received his title at an investiture ceremony in Auckland today although he still feels "awkward" about his new status.

Supported standing allows Hayley to access the play kitchen. While in this position, she is working on weight bearing while playing in the midline position. She had a great time cooking 'dinner'. This fun exercise also helps develop Hayley's fine motor /manipulation skills. As you can observe, Hayley has no problems with imagination and creativity!
