Totara Health has two clinics one in Hastings 06 873 0101 and one in Flaxmere 06 873 9024. Our opening hours are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.

Totara Health provides quality, low-cost healthcare 5 days a week from our two clinics in Hastings and Flaxmere. We offer a full service of healthcare including health checks, immunisations and health and wellbeing advice, for parents and guardians, to older people and youth. We are dedicated to providing the best possible care for our community in a safe, supportive environment.

Starting February 2026, some patients may be eligible for 12 month prescriptions instead of the usual 3 months.
This is a clinical decision based on your health needs.
To find out if you’re eligible, you will need to book a 30 minute consultation with your GP or Nurse Practitioner.

If you have a fever or a rash (or think you might have measles), please do not enter the practice.

Measles is circulating in Aotearoa.

Two measles vaccinations protect about 99% of people.

The vaccine is free for under-18s and for adults eligible for funded care.

Not sure if you’ve had two doses? We can help you check and catch up if required.

If you have a fever and a rash, please call us before coming into the practice as measles is very contagious.

Our new afterhours service: Practice Plus

Totara Health is partnering with Practice Plus to be able to provide you healthcare when our clinics are closed. If you call us after 5pm on weekdays, and 24/7 on the weekend, Practice Plus will be answering your call.

What does this mean for you?

Practice Plus will give you a free triage and basic advice over the phone

If you are needing to speak to a GP, Practice Plus can organize a video or phone consultation with a GP for the same price you would pay for a service with us during the week (free for under 24 years old, $19.50 for CSC holders, $29.50 for non-CSC holders).

Flu vaccines

Kia ora e te whānau,

From the week of the 31st of March 2025, we will be providing flu vaccines in clinic again.

Our flu vaccine clinics will run on Tuesdays at Nelson Street and Thursdays at Flaxmere. Patients can go to either clinic to get their flu vaccines done.

The following patients will be able to get funded flu vaccines:

· Pregnant people

· People aged 65 years and over

· People aged 6 months to 65 years with eligible conditions (for a list of conditions, please refer to the IMAC website)

· Children 4 years of age and under who have been hospitalised for respiratory illness or have a significant history of respiratory illness

· People aged 6 months to under 65 years with serious mental health and addiction conditions

We will also be providing unfunded vaccines for our enrolled patients.
