On the eve of my 43rd, sending out big love and thanks whānau.
The first few months of this year were undoubtedly some of the roughest we’ve had in long while. Selling up and moving out of town, losing Grandad and a little stint in hospital all within a few short weeks, and whilst transitioning to rural life has been pretty wild to say the least.
But having gorgeous friends holding our hands every step of the way did so much to soften out the edges and remind us that wherever we land in this beautiful motu, we will always be held and always be loved.
To every one of the special folks who helped us assemble our wee cabin, cooked and delivered meals, lent us power tools, put together care packages, sent flowers, covered my classes, offered us hot showers and grocery pick-ups and deliveries, who were patient and understanding when we needed to postpone or cancel plans, who sent cards, texts and voice notes to just check in and let us know you were thinking of us, we thank you.
Thank you for it all.
This year for my birthday, I’m not making any resolutions or monumental intentions; I am simply leaning hard into gratitude, for all of you beautiful humans.
It’s felt so good to be turning a corner this week and for me to be back where I’m happiest: sharing yoga with y’all!
It’s gonna be a special first birthday for me in our new surroundings (this stunner of a beach close by being the icing on the cake!) made all the more meaningful when we reflect on how you helped us get here.
So from me, Mr V. and Fleurie, aroha nui whānau 🙏🏾💜
