Passed away peacefully at Hawkes Bay Regional Hospital on 22nd September 2025, aged 91 years.Dearly loved husband of Robin. Loved father of Tod and Mason, Poppa John to Mitchell and Brooke and Emily. Great Poppa John to Miesha and Amity, John will be sadly missed.

On Tuesday, 16th September 2025 Passed away peacefully at Brittany House, aged 91. Loved husband and best friend of Beth. Loved dad of Kate and Rob Simpson and Matthew and Sally. Treasured grandad of Aimee, Ethan, Lachlan, Zoe and Jack. Our grateful thanks to Totara Health and staff at Brittany House. Special thanks to Dr Stride for helping Ian to have 22 more years of good health. In accordance with Ian’s wishes a private service has been held.

WATERS, Ian Michael,
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ian Waters on the 26 September 2025 at Hastings Hospital, surrounded by those who loved him most. Dearly loved husband of Marilyn (Lyn) Waters. A devoted brother to Eric, and brother-in-law to Sue (UK), Ian was also a much-loved uncle, grandad, and a loyal friend to many.
A celebration of Ian’s life will be held on:
Saturday, 11 October at 10:00am at Equippers Church 306 Hapuku St, Hastings.
Following the service, all who knew Ian are warmly invited to join the family for refreshments at the Western Rangers Football Club.
In honour of Ian, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society or Cranford Hospice, organizations close to his heart.
Ian leaves behind a legacy of love. He will be forever remembered by: Mark, Karlene, Renee, Trey and Ryan, Evan, Ammy and Ant.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
May he rest in peace.
