Our crew has now completed works at Swamp Cutting (Bridge 252 on Taihape Road), carrying out critical scour protection and retaining repairs, working as a subcontractor to United Civils Construction.

These photos were taken during the works, which involved placing heavy rock riprap, filling voids, and reinstating the bank to help protect the bridge from future erosion.

An awesome effort from the team in keeping this vital route safe and secure!

🌟Exciting news – our new asphalt plant has arrived!🌟

Once fully installed and operational, this new plant will boost our production capacity from 30T/hr to 150T/hr - a major step forward for our team.

It also opens the door to using up to 20% recycled asphalt in our mixes and allows us to manufacture warm asphalt, improving both sustainability and flexibility.
Importantly, we’re making a shift from diesel to a cleaner energy mix of electricity and LPG, helping reduce our environmental impact.

We’ll share more updates as we get closer to installation and go-live - exciting times ahead as we work smarter, cleaner, and faster!

Tūpore Team Tuesday: Meet Andrew - Our amazing Asphalt & Surfacing Manager

This week we completed bitumen sealing on Kahuranaki Road as part of our slip repair works for Hastings District Council - Te Kaunihera ā-Rohe o Heretaunga. The project involved installing a retaining wall on the northern side of the road to stabilise the site, followed by full reinstatement of the road surface.

Thank you to the Kahuranaki community for your patience and cooperation while this work was carried out. We appreciate the support and look forward to completing the remaining works by the end of next week.

Sealing was completed using our new bitumen sprayer, in service since February 2025. It’s equipped with a 12,000-litre tank, remote operation, an integrated job management system, GPS tracking, and sensors that monitor road temperature and humidity - all helping us deliver more efficient and precise sealing operations.

We’re proud to be using advanced equipment to achieve higher quality outcomes for our communities. Thanks again for staying safe around our teams - and enjoy the smooth new surface!

At Tūpore, we’re proud to give back to our community, with 10% of our profits going into The George Foundation to help support local initiatives, groups, and individuals.

This week, we were humbled to receive a visit from Breanna Dittmer, who brought in her thanks and appreciation for the support she received from The George Foundation during her last ministock season. Breanna started her racing journey at just 10 years old and is not only a talented young sportsperson - she’s also the granddaughter of one of our team members, so part of our whānau by default!

It’s a privilege to be able to support awesome local rangatahi like Breanna as they chase their dreams. You can follow Breanna’s journey here Team Doodee 464b ministock, with so many successes already, she’s definitely one to watch!
