Some Information on Repairs:
I don’t repair soft top surfboards sorry.
I don’t carry spare parts for soft top surf boards.
I can only ‘estimate’ what a board may cost for repair. Often there is more to the damage than a first glance can show and photos are only a basic indication of what repair or repairs are required.
I can’t quote an exact price sorry however I try to estimate as close as possible.
If you want to repair your own boards then please, go check out you tube or ask aunty google. World of advice and information there.
If you drop off a board for repair please try to pay for and collect it within 1-2 weeks of it being repaired.
Some Epoxy boards can be very problematic to repair, especially if they have gotten water inside them. Generally epoxy board repairs will cost at least $30 more than their Polyester counterparts to fix.
Why?
- Epoxies if damaged while surfing hold water in the EPS and are difficult to dry out internally.
(Repairing a wet board is a waste of time, money and resin) if you damage an epoxy while surfing and want it to be repaired then get it out of the water ASAP!)
- Epoxy resin is 2-3 x more expensive than polyester resins
-Epoxy boards generally use an EPS core, the eps expands and contracts with ambient temperature. This adds additional issues when undergoing repairs hence usually take more labour time to repair.
- Epoxy is toxic.
Lastly if you have an HS board, my advice is, don’t damage it. While the price might look good in the shop, the repair price will not.
The day may well be coming when I no longer accept this brand for repair.
Enough said.
