UPDATE (2 February)- The temporary water restrictions for Hāwera, Okaiawa, Ōhawe, Normanby and the Kapuni area are now LIFTED. The technical issues at the water treatment plant have been fixed. Thanks for your efforts to conserve water use.

Kia ora everyone,

Due to a technical issue at the Kapuni Water Treatment Plant, water supply is currently limited. As a result, we are asking all residents on council water supply in Hāwera, Okaiawa, Ōhawe, Normanby and the Kapuni area to conserve water immediately.

The issue means the plant is temporarily unable to meet usual levels of demand at this time.

Please avoid all non-essential water use, such as car washing, garden watering or hosing, and similar activities, until further notice.

Reducing water use now will help ensure supply is available for essential needs across our community.

Well… what a year it’s been! Can I say we had a blast in our first year of business? Not exactly. Was it easy? Definitely not. Was it the perfect time to launch a small business startup? Nope. Can confirm there have been sleepless nights and lots of tears...

But, what I can say is that it has been an absolute epic adventure working alongside incredible teams across South Taranaki and Whanganui. I’ve had amazing learning experiences getting to understand different professions and industry requirements and what makes our regions tick! I can't thank those business's that gave me a chance this year enough for the trust!

While it’s been a challenging year, we’re not ready to call it quits. Our services have grown throughout the year, most recently adding fit testing and I’m working on an exciting regular HRS - Healthy Roads to Safety Program. This is exactly where I want to see HRS heading. The goal is to encourage businesses of all sizes access regular health, safety and people support, not just a once-a-year check-in. So, watch this space… or get in touch to find out more!

I’ll be back in the office early in the new year. Until then, stay safe and have fun!

Chuffed to have made a little bit of a difference to those attending Egmont A&P over the weekend.

Hawera really put the weather on and water to quench the thirst was a hit!
