We’re excited to host Gabby this month as part of the University of Otago IPE Programme! 🎉

Interprofessional Education (IPE) is all about different health and social care professionals learning with, from, and about each other 🤝 — so they can work better together and provide safer, high-quality, patient-centred care.

Because great care is a team effort 💙

It is not about muscles and joints.
It’s about dignity.

It’s about whether someone can return to being a parent, a partner, a worker, a friend - or whether a child gets the chance to simply be a child again.

It’s about reclaiming the parts of life that matter most.

For too long, rehabilitation has been seen as optional. A “nice to have” once treatment ends.
But rehabilitation is the process of restoring a person’s ability to live their life.

It is the bridge between treatment… and truly living again.

Right now, at the Cancer Rehabilitation Foundation (PINC & STEEL) we’re seeing a shift.
More awareness.
More conversations.
And more partners stepping forward to back this work and help us reach more people.

We are also seeing unprecedented demand through medical referrals and need more support to meet that need.

👉 Help us make rehabilitation part of every recovery story.

Like many of us, a new year resolution for Hala was to work on her health and fitness.

“I started using the squat machines and was progressively increasing the weight, but with every squat I'd get this sharp shooting pain in my hip.

“I kept exercising on it, thinking it would come right but it didn't – it just got worse and worse.”

Hala shares her experience with an injury and advice for anyone looking get stuck in at the gym.
