Our Story

Hi welcome to our page. We are a practice of midwives who work with women throughout pregnancy, birth and for up to 6 weeks following the birth of your baby.

Coastal Midwives believe in the natural ability of women to birth and mother their babies. We aim to provide supportive and respectful care to women in their journey to become mothers.

Women can chose their midwife who will provide lead maternity care throughout their time with us. We provide a 24/7 on call midwifery service for urgent and emergency care outside routine appointments within the practice, which means there is always our midwifery care accessible to you.

If you are looking for a midwife please contact one of our LMC's who can discuss your needs with you. The areas we cover include Reefton, Grey District, Hokitika and South Westland. We offer continuity of care, including water birth at Grey Base Hospital.
