Joanne will be joining us again this year.
Kia ora, I’m Joanne also known as Mystikal Witchy, a spiritual practitioner, reader, and seeker who has been walking this path since the early 1990s.
My journey began in Dargaville, where I joined a local spiritual group that met weekly to learn, share, and welcome guest speakers. It was there that I met two remarkable women, Mary and her daughter Gaye. Mary introduced me to the art of card readings, while Gaye — a nurse, world traveler, and theology student — taught me to open all of my senses and explore the depth of spiritual practices. Through her guidance, I learned about chakras, pendulums, crystals, scrying, astrology, candle readings, tea leaf readings, and more.
By 1993, I naturally gravitated toward elemental magik, herbal lore, and energy work. These became my foundation, practices I have continued to strengthen alongside card readings over the years.
Another important moment on my path came when I met Anne Bland, who introduced me to my spirit guide, Petra. Since then, Petra has been my constant companion, and it is through her that the messages I share in my readings are received.
Today, I have returned to readings with a renewed sense of purpose and have begun weaving spellwork back into my practice. Along this journey, I have been blessed to meet many inspiring witches and healers, including the wonderful Paula Wedo of Dragonspace, who creates magical witchy products and shares her own wisdom through readings.
I am deeply grateful for the teachers, guides, and kindred spirits who have shaped my journey. My work now is dedicated to sharing those gifts — readings, magik, and energy practices — to help others find clarity, healing, and connection on their own paths.
