๐Ÿ’œ Healthy Habits for Everyday Wellbeing ๐Ÿ’œ

Small, consistent habits can make a big difference to your health and wellbeing over time. You donโ€™t need to change everything at once โ€” even one positive step is a great start.

๐ŸŒฟ Simple healthy habits include:
๐Ÿ’œ Moving your body in ways you enjoy
๐Ÿ’œ Eating regular, balanced meals
๐Ÿ’œ Drinking plenty of water
๐Ÿ’œ Prioritising good sleep
๐Ÿ’œ Taking time to relax and connect with others

If youโ€™d like support to build healthier habits, our team, including our Health Coach Emma (in partnership with West Coast Health) can help guide you in a way that works for you and your lifestyle.

Healthy habits today support a healthier tomorrow ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ’œ Did You Know? ๐Ÿ’œ

Have your medicines changed? Do you struggle to keep track? Do you want to know what your medicines do? Or how they work together?

We have two pharmacists at Westland Medical Centre, Tayla Cadigan and Ginny Brailsford.

They aim to address gaps and barriers to appropriate medicines use.

๐Ÿ’Ÿ Limited bookings are now available.
๐Ÿ’Ÿ The appointment is free and whฤnau are welcome.

๐Ÿ’ฌ What to expect: A conversation about your medicines and how they are working for you, how they work together and an opportunity to ask questions. The pharmacist cannot do a prescription or treat any urgent conditions, but can make recommendations to the prescriber to alter long term medication/s, if needed.

๐Ÿ’ฌ How to prepare: Bring any medicines, inhaler/s (or other devices you use) to the appointment. If you have a blister pack, yellow card or other list of medicines, bring that also. We are interested in any supplements and non-prescribed medicines you are using so will need the details of those also.

๐Ÿ’ฌYou may be referred to a pharmacist by one of our clinicians as part of our comprehensive care.

Keep an eye out for more โ€œDid You Knowโ€ information coming soon.

๐Ÿ’œโ˜€๏ธ Heat Safety & Hydration This Summer โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ

As the warmer weather continues, itโ€™s important to look after yourself and your whฤnau in the heat. Hot days can take a toll on your body if youโ€™re not prepared.

Stay safe this summer by remembering to:
๐Ÿ’ง Drink plenty of water throughout the day โ€” donโ€™t wait until you feel thirsty.
๐Ÿ’œ Take regular breaks in the shade or a cool place.
๐Ÿงข Wear light, loose clothing and a hat when outdoors.
๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ต Keep a close eye on children, older adults, and anyone with health conditions โ€” theyโ€™re more affected by heat.

Signs of heat stress can include dizziness, headache, nausea, cramps, or feeling very tired. If you or someone else feels unwell, cool down, hydrate, and seek medical advice if symptoms donโ€™t improve.

Enjoy the sunshine, but remember โ€” hydration and shade are key to a safe and healthy summer ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ’œ Regular Health Checks Matter ๐Ÿ’œ

Regular health checks are an important way to stay on top of your wellbeing and catch potential issues early โ€” even when youโ€™re feeling well.

๐Ÿฉบ Health checks can help with:
๐Ÿ’œ Monitoring long-term conditions
๐Ÿ’œ Preventing future health problems
๐Ÿ’œ Identifying concerns before symptoms appear
๐Ÿ’œ Supporting healthier lifestyle choices

We encourage our patients to book routine health checks and reviews in advance, especially if you have ongoing health conditions or are due for a check-up.

Looking after your health today can make a big difference for tomorrow ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ’œ Appointments & Repeat Prescriptions โ€“ A Friendly Reminder ๐Ÿ’œ

To help us take the best care of you and your whฤnau, we kindly ask that appointments and repeat prescription requests are organised in advance wherever possible.

๐Ÿ“… Appointments
Booking ahead helps you secure a time and day that suits you, especially for routine reviews and ongoing health needs.

๐Ÿ’Š Repeat Prescriptions
Please allow enough time for your repeat prescriptions to be processed. Leaving requests until the last minute can lead to delays, particularly during busy periods or staff absences.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep things running smoothly for everyone ๐Ÿ’œ
