My first C-section was 9 years ago, and my second was 5 years ago.
In all that time, I never once treated my scar. No massage, no oils, no creams… nothing.
To be honest, I avoid it. Every time I touch it, I get that sick feeling in my stomach, mixed with the weird numbness that covers my whole lower abdomen (from my belly button down to my scar).
With that comes muscles and fascia that aren’t functioning properly, leaving me with the classic undesirable “tummy shelf” and a sense of disconnect.
Because of all these icky feelings, I left it alone. It is what it is- I thought.
But now… things have changed - with my knowledge being a Scar Therapist and after a year of practising gentle scar therapy with clients, I finally bit the bullet and started working on myself.
And wow—what an eye-opener.
When I really felt into my scar tissue, I found:
• Swollen lymph nodes
• Deep adhesions into fascia and muscle
• Firm bumps and valleys of stuck tissue
Leaving this untreated for so many years has been affecting me more than I realised. My lymphatic system, pelvic floor, abdominal function, even digestion. And that’s just the physical side.
There’s also the emotional trauma stored there, from the births themselves. It’s like that energy gets trapped in the scar, holding you back until you’re ready to release it.
So here I am 🙌 finally ready. This is going to be a massive healing journey, both physically and emotionally. It’s time to let it out, and be free. 💛
Follow along as I share this journey and the changes I notice.
