We've been having a lot of fun here at Marinoto lately. A group of residents headed out for a great time watching the 'Giraffes Can Dance' show which was fantastic and had everyone buzzing. Thank you to the talented performers for putting on such a great show!

A drive to the beach for fish and chips went down very well, PLUS We've enjoyed some amazing speakers - including a very fascinating speech from David Scott - Tug Master at Point Taranaki, sharing his knowledge and some great stories. Thank you for giving up your time David!

We've had games, talented musicians, another visit from Toby the therapy dog, and even enjoyed some mid-winter Mr Whippy - its never too cold for ice cream!

Our Head Cook Jared and the team work so hard to make sure our residents, day stay visitors and Meals on Wheels customers get fresh, warm, tasty and nutritious meals every day.

A big thank you to E. Souber for sending over these kind words. We are so pleased with the wonderful feedback.

If you know someone in Inglewood who might benefit from receiving Meals on Wheels, delivered by friendly New Zealand Red Cross volunteers, you can find more information here - https://www.marinotoresthome.co.nz/meals-on-wheels-available-in-inglewood-nz/

We’re excited to announce that we’ve just installed new ceiling hoist tracks in three more rooms in our hospital wing — bringing the total to six! This upgrade means safer, more efficient care for our residents and better support for our amazing staff.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible, especially those who joined our Fundraising Quiz Night and the Inglewood Welfare Society for their invaluable support.

We're humbled that the TET Trust has so generously agreed to grant $2 Million Dollars to Marinoto!
Over 5 years ago a $2 million dollar loan was granted to fund the build of our invaluable Hospital Wing. Having this loan forgiven will go so far towards ensuring Marinoto is able to continue to provide excellent Rest Home and Hospital level care in Inglewood for future generations.

We'd like to extend a huge thank you to the TET Trustees for seeing the value in what we do here at Marinoto and for their wonderful generosity, and also to Denise Loveridge and the Inglewood Welfare Society for all of their hard work, support and guidance.

Kickin’ It in Perfect Sync! Inglewood Line Dancer Boots were stompin’, hips were swayin’, and smiles were all around!
Had an absolute blast line dancing with the best crew in town. 💥 Whether the residents knew the steps or the music, they had so much fun. The group brought the energy to the floor!

Swipe through the pics and see how they turned rhythm into a party.

Celebrating 3 Generations of Service to Marinoto!

We are incredibly proud to acknowledge the Valentine family, who were recently recognised at the New Plymouth Volunteer Recognition Awards for their long-standing dedication to Marinoto Home & Hospital Care.

For over 50 years, they have played a vital role in our history and growth. The late Bill Valentine was instrumental in helping establish Marinoto as a rest home in 1970, and later a hospital-level care facility, serving as Chairman and Patron of the Inglewood Welfare Society.

His daughter-in-law, Marian Valentine, a current board member, continued the legacy by supporting key developments, including our hospital wing and serving as a key representative and fundraiser. During the COVID pandemic, her daughter Nikki Valentine, now a valued staff member at Marinoto, began volunteering her time to support our residents. Nikki continues to go above and beyond for our team and those we care for every day.

💖 We honour their dedication, compassion, and deep connection to Marinoto. Thank you to the Valentine family for your multi-generational service.

We had the most adorable little fluffy visitors today. Thank you to our Registered Nurse Nykalah for bringing them in for a cuddle - the mum got taken for a nice walk around the home while some puppies ending up having nice little snoozes on the residents 😍💤

🏡We’ve had all sorts happening this week at Marinoto, from cute little people and their awesome teachers from Inglewood Community Childcare Centre Inc visiting and entertaining us with stories, songs and bubbles 🫧, a very interesting speaker Derek Hoeta - (who was born at Marinoto!) - talking about his life, beautiful music with Susan Taylor, another special birthday - with cake - and lots more fun and games 🃏.

Next week is lining up to be just as good - with even better weather ☀️🤞🏻🤞🏻
