It was a privilege to host physiotherapists from all over Southland for our second round of educational sessions a couple of weeks ago.

These sessions focused on lower limbs, and included some interesting cases Graham, Nic and Rachel have come across during their time scanning and taking X-rays at MSK.

Meet Mel! Mel joins Chloe on the front desk of MSK. She brings her extensive medical reception experience and beautiful smile to the team. We are lucky to have her!

Born and raised in Invercargill, Mel has over 9 years’ experience as a medical receptionist working in a local GP practice.

Mel’s commitment to patient care and her kind, empathetic nature are valuable assets to the MSK team.

Outside of work, Mel gets her adrenaline hit jet-skiing on Lake Te Anau with her husband and two young adult children. She also enjoys caring for her garden and cats 🐱🌿🌼

We were blown away by the generosity of the Southland community during the Love Grace Handbag Appeal New Zealand. What an amazing appeal to be a part of!

Since 14 February, we received 112 handbags filled with basic toiletries and a whole lot of love from the public, for women who need the services of Te Whare Hou Invercargill Womens Refuge.

A special shout out to Windsor Pharmacy who donated a huge box of toiletries and gorgeous luxury items🥰😇

We are proud to be a drop-off point for the Love Grace appeal this year, in support of Women's Refuge and victims of domestic abuse.

From 14 February to 8 March, bring in a handbag filled with basic toiletries set out in the flyer below and any extras or luxuries you want to add and we will deliver it to Te Whare Hou Invercargill Women's Refuge following the end of the appeal 🫶

The drop-off point is MSK premises at 33 Arena Avenue, Invercargill.

Meet Nic, our new sonographer!

Nic is taking bookings for general ultrasound scans now, with a wait time of 5-7 days.

Nic has 15 years’ experience in general ultrasound and worked as a radiographer for 11 years’ prior to training as a sonographer.

Originally from Tapanui, Nic enjoys using her skills to serve the Southland community with care and compassion and prides herself on clear communication with both patients and referrers.

Outside of work, Nic loves getting outdoors with her husband and two daughters on their bikes and in their tramping boots.

Introducing Chloe!

We are lucky to have Chloe's smile and unflappable demeanor grace our front desk every day.

Chloe brings her wealth of anatomical knowledge and patient care to her role. She holds a Bachelor of Therapeutic and Sports Massage and was involved in the remedial massage industry for 13 years prior to joining us.

She has a passion for patient care and providing an outstanding service experience; her friendly, approachable, and empathetic nature certainly reinforces this passion.

On her days off she enjoys spending time with her husband, fur babies and, if she’s lucky, her teenage children. You may also see her performing aerial acrobatics as part of South Pole Dance.
