PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION (including ACC)
MoveRight offers a mobile physiotherapy service for those who have difficulty accessing a clinic
or if you need to focus on home-based rehabilitation. Whether you require rehabilitation treatment following an illness, injury, fall, or surgery, we can meet with you to complete an assessment and discuss an individualised treatment programme focused on achieving your goals. As an ACC registered provider, Vicki is able to provide physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation for your injury. MoveRight does not currently offer treatment for acute sporting injuries. We recommend you contact one of your local physiotherapy clinics to access treatment for this. VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION
Move Right provides Vocational Rehabilitation Services within Southland for ACC, other insurers and accredited employers. The purpose of vocational rehabilitation is to support a client return to work following an illness and/or an injury. This involves assessing the work environment and job tasks and identifying and addressing factors which may affect the client’s ability to return to work. PATIENT HANDLING EDUCATION
Patient handling is an area of manual handling that is continually changing due to equipment and technological developments. When it comes to the moving and handling of people there are many factors that can affect a worker’s risk of injury. With more than 10 years’ experience in providing patient handling education within various healthcare settings, a programme can be provided specific to the requirements of your workplace. MANUAL HANDLING EDUCATION
Many workers are required to lift, handle and/or move loads as part of their work duties and may pose a potential risk of injury to workers due to a range of different factors. Manual handling education is one component of a risk management system, addressing these factors and promoting safe manual handling practices in the workplace. No matter what industry you work in, it might be construction, office based, factory, driving, farming, healthcare, or something else, training can be tailored to meet your specific needs. WORKPLACE/WORKSITE ASSESSMENT
A workplace, or worksite assessment, involves observing, evaluating and reporting on an individual’s work tasks. This includes looking at the physical requirements, organisational, environmental and ergonomic factors of the work tasks. The assessment includes providing recommendations and advice on how best to achieve optimal working postures, and actions, and reducing the impact of factors that may lead to injury and pain reporting in the workplace. BALANCE AND MOBILITY ASSESSMENT
Changes to balance and mobility can result due to a number of reasons. Many of these are able to be addressed by a thorough balance and mobility assessment. This assessment may be completed within the home environment and can help identify factors that may increase a person’s risk of falling. Exercise and training regimes can be recommended, and monitored, to address the factors contributing to poor balance and mobility. Education is also provided regarding creating and maintaining a home environment that is safe for mobility and reducing the risk of falls. If a mobility aid is required, this can be tested for, and the most appropriate aid will be identified to address the person’s needs.
