π Mindfulness at Calm Seas Therapy π
Did you know that even a few minutes of mindfulness each day can significantly improve your mental health? Today, Iβm sharing a simple yet powerful mindfulness exercise that you can do anywhere, anytime.
π 5 4 3 2 1 - Grounding Technique π
This technique will bring you back to the present moment and help reduce feelings of anxiety.
5: Acknowledge FIVE things you see around you ποΈ
It could be a bird, a pencil, or simply the clouds in the sky.
4: Notice FOUR things you can touch around you π€π»
Maybe your hair, a pillow, or the ground under your feet.
3: Focus on THREE things you hear ππ»
This could be any external sound. If you can hear more than three, thatβs great too!
2: Acknowledge TWO things you can smell ππ»
Maybe you smell soap in your bathroom or coffee in the kitchen.
1: Acknowledge ONE thing you can taste π
What does the inside of your mouth taste likeβgum, coffee, or the sandwich you just had?
