Residents from Kauri Lodge enjoyed a delicious fish and chip lunch at the Hooked On Café Whangaroa this week. The atmosphere had a touch of pre-Christmas flair with table decorations and bonbons.
A big thank you to Selwyna and the team — the meal was absolutely yummy!

BIG news at Omaunu House — our brand-new double boxing bag rack is up and ready for action… and it looks amazing!

Massive shout-out to Arran for the awesome mahi — your time, skill, and effort has created something seriously cool. Zak was straight in there giving it the first workout!

But we’re not stopping there…to celebrate our new addition, we’re launching a NEW 6:30am BoxFit class starting Wednesday, 26th November!

These Vegepods are absolute legends.
Dave our Kauri Lodge resident novice gardener got our second batch of lettuces and spinach in yesterday—I do believe he is developing green thumbs.
We even spotted a couple of strawberries getting ready to make their big debut in a few days. Consider it a tasty little reward, Dave for keeping everything watered while we wait for the irrigation installation to be completed 😊

What an awesome morning at the Whangaroa Community Pool! Our AquaFit programme kicked off with an amazing turnout — ka mau te wehi, whānau!
Loving the energy and community vibes already.
Apologies whanau - due to popular demand there are no spaces available in this class at present.
Huge shout-out to our incredible lifeguard, Eljon, for keeping us safe and supported.

🚀 What a week with the Community Impact team!

From early 6 am and evening 5.30pm HIIT and Functional Fit classes, to catching the sunrise with BoxFit 🌅, we kept Tamariki and Rangitahi moving and motivated all week. 💥

🎶 Band classes at Kauri Lodge and Te Touwai marae? ✔️
💪 Finishing off the week with HIIT on the lawn? ✔️

Only things missing: AquaFit (fingers crossed for the pool next week 🏊‍♂️) and Pumped (the broken rib is healing nicely 💖).

And the best part? We get to do it all again with you starting Monday! 💥💪

The first of the lettuces were harvested yesterday by Dave, one of the Kauri Lodge residents who volunteered to water the seedlings every day while a timer was being sorted out.
Here he proudly presents some of the fresh produce to Kathy in the kitchen, who was making a salad with them for dinner last night. Well done, Dave — they grew so quickly! Must have been all the love and care you gave them.
Thank you again FNDC for supporting this project through Community Board Funding.
