The Girouard Centre of Weight Management & Wellness today announced it will be joining Reversal NZ, a New Zealand–wide metabolic health group dedicated to lifestyle medicine and long-term wellness.
This transition means Canterbury patients will now have access to a broader team of doctors, health coaches and specialists while maintaining the same personal, supportive approach to care.
Reversal NZ’s clinical leaders bring nationally recognised expertise. Dr Glen Davies (2021 GP of the Year), and Jaala Dyer (2022 Health & Wellness Coach of the Year), will be closely involved in patient care along; with our own Dr Ximena shifting across. Their awards reflect a deep commitment to excellence in lifestyle-based, compassionate healthcare, values that align with the Girouard Centre’s founding philosophy.
“After ten years serving Canterbury, I am proud of what we’ve accomplished,” says Dr Jonie Girouard. “Joining Reversal NZ means our patients gain the strength of a wider team, while I dedicate more time for research and global advocacy for women with lipedema - an area that urgently needs attention.”
Dr Glen Davies added: “We are delighted to extend Reversal NZ’s care to the Canterbury community, building on the Girouard Centre’s strong foundation and ensuring patients continue to receive the best possible support on their health journeys.”
The Girouard Centre will see its final patients on 30 September 2025. From 1 October 2025, Reversal NZ will contact patients directly to confirm or rebook appointments. InBody scans will remain available until 30 September, with future arrangements through local gyms or pharmacies.
