The best thing about ConTact CARE is being able to work on my own beautiful boy ☺️ He presented with a warm swollen left hock on this day (as you can see he's traumatised 😆)
Although I'm ever watchful about when to call the vet, in this instance it seemed like a pure impact injury. He wasn't lame, but looked as though he was aware that something was different about that leg (lifting it, swapping his weight between hind feet every so often). There was significant pressure over the swollen area, which he didn't mind me releasing. Then I worked on peripheral areas - even his jaw. I was able to follow this up with brief treatments over the next couple of days, as well as gentle walking and trotting in hand. Even within 24hours the swelling and heat had reduced, and no lameness could be detected.
It has continued to improve.
I always wonder whether not doing the work, would have resulted in a more serious injury. But ethically, am uwilling to find out. Prevention is the best medicine.
