One review can say so much

“Bug balm is the best 💯 it's not to thick and also works. Apply around ankles, wrist and back of neck. No odd smell and it actually works. Reapply after swimming. Perfect for every day use."

This balm was the very first product I ever made.
It started in my kitchen, for my kids, and now it’s helping other whānau too.

Fresh batch ready this week — PM if you need one

Thank you for every message, every share, every order. They really do mean the world.

A little story about how Bug Balm began…

Years ago, I made an extra-large batch of bug balm — way more than our whānau needed. At the same time, my son was going through a phase where he absolutely wouldn’t take any pharmaceutical medicines.

So I started looking for gentle, plant-based alternatives that actually worked.

I had plantain and calendula growing in the garden, so I infused them into oil, melted beeswax, added a touch of peppermint, eucalyptus, lavender and tea tree… and suddenly this little balm became our go-to remedy for every bite, sting, scrape, and itchy kid leg.

I posted the extras online, thinking maybe one or two people might want one — and they sold. Then more people asked. Then people came back for refills.

And honestly… that’s how Kaingaroa Plant Lady started.

Just a mum, some plants, and a balm that helped her kids feel better.

I’ve made countless batches since, but Bug Balm will always hold a special place in my heart — it was the very first product, and still one of the most-loved.

Bug season is here… thank goodness Bug Balm is back!

Just made a fresh batch of my OG Bug Balm — the remedy that actually started Kaingaroa Plant Lady all those years ago.

It’s packed with:
🌼 Plantain + Calendula infused oil (soothing + skin healing)
🐝 Local beeswax
🌿 Peppermint, eucalyptus, lavender + tea tree

Perfect for:
✔️ Mozzies
✔️ Midge bites
✔️ Sandflies
✔️ Itchy kid legs
✔️ Summer camping

A little goes a long way — gentle on pēpi, powerful on bites.

Flick me a message if you want one, or you can grab yours through my website kaingaroaplantlady.com

Stay bite-free, whānau!

Herb of the Week: Mullein
My current obsession — and one of our most underrated herbs.

Mullein is traditionally used for:
• Supporting the lungs
• Soothing dry coughs
• Easing chest tightness
• Calming inflammation

I’m drying heaps right now and also infusing a fresh mullein oil that might become a chest balm soon 👀✨

Would you be keen on a mullein chest rub?
Let me know!

$8 mullein plants available now!

A little behind-the-scenes peek ✨
