What a week!
74 hours of work (not including the paper work
2 x tanks of gas
1 x new windscreen
6 x babies welcomed into the world
1 x panic to get a Mama in labour out of floods
1 Transfer by chopper to Auckland.
And 3 babies over due!
Luckily for me I have a student on her very 1st placement helping me out! A husband that will drive to get me (yes we have to get our own way back after transferring).
Amazing midwife partner and hospital midwives!
Everyone is happy and safe!

Happy Easter everyone, I think this baby wont be the first that the Easter bunny brings us.

We knew this strong Wahine has quick labours, so the phonecall to Jordan Williams at maternity unit was start running the pool! Sure enough 15 minutes after arrival this beautiful girl was born in the water into her Daddy's hands with her little "big" sister in the background.

One of the perks of Rural Midwifery! Being welcomed into Whanau land that most people would never get to see the paradise we live in the FFN. Yes the roads aren't for the faint hearted and Yes I went for a swim.....Undies un**es, Togs Togs.
Oh yeah, Mama and Pepi are doing amazing!

WE GOT THIS!
This pic tells us a 100 stories of the Far North
These Mama both needed transportation at the same time. Our Wahine up here are so strong and resilient! As well as our midwives who work together and join forces for our Mama, babies and whanau safety. Also a shout out to our Ambo Transfer team!

What a week! Running on caffeine! Welcoming 5 babies over the weekend and having final home visits with 3. The best thing about being a Midwife in the Far North is it's never a final goodbye, it's a "see you in Pak n Save" so we see our youngest community members growing up!
A beautiful gift received today from a beautiful whanau! The card just made my day, first time I've been called so SIGMA! 🤣.
