Welcome to True Blue Organics, the home of New Zealand’s only certified organic Tea Tree oil from Melaleuca alternifolia and the business of Margaret and Hamish Macbeth. The aim of True Blue Organics is to produce safe and effective skin care and cleaning products that use ingredients sourced from New Zealand wherever possible, and conform to international standards for quality and purity. Our True Blue Organics products contain no artificial preservatives, no synthetic chemicals, no mineral oils, no pesticide or herbicide residues, no solvents and involve no animal testing. They utilise the powerful natural antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties of Melaleuca alternifolia oil, well documented and researched in Australia for almost 100 years. Tea Tree is the main crop but we also grow enough calendula flowers to make the calendula infused oil which is an important moisturising ingredient in the Hand Sanitiser, the TLC Balm and the soap. True Blue Organics 100% pure essential oil and products are available online and in health and organic outlets around New Zealand.

True Blue Organics creates Calendula infused oil from the dried petals and sepals of the calendula flowers grown in Karamea and certified organic by BioGroNZ. The petals are harvested, dried and then infused in certified organic sunflower oil 🌻

Calendula oil is good for all skin types, and is considered valuable for treating skin damage such as wounds, scars, burns, inflammation and other injuries as it is said to be an effective aid in tissue regeneration. It has anti- inflammatory, anti-spasmodic qualities.

A natural, gentle hand sanitiser made by hand right here in beautiful Karamea 🌱

“Hand sanitisers usually contain at least 60-70% alcohol as an antimicrobial and drying agent. Tea Tree’s powerful antibacterial properties allow us to reduce the alcohol content to less than 30%. Adding lemon oil and our own organic moisturising Calendula oil we complement Tea Tree’s pleasant fragrance in a safe and natural fashion.”

Our main product is the pure Tea Tree essential oil which is the base ingredient for all True Blue Products. Tea Tree oil enjoys a rich history and while there is a wide list of established uses, the main categories are skincare, aromatherapy and antibacterial cleaning 🌱

The oil is packaged in 12ml and 30ml blue glass bottles which keep out the light to protect the original quality of the oil. It is also available in larger quantities on demand. Our oil is sold in bulk to organic dairy farmers, Aromatherapists, soap and skin care manufacturers, and is an ingredient in a natural Sandfly repellent.

On our Karamea farm the main crop is Tea Tree but as believers in diversity and self-sufficiency, we also produce a variety of our own food 🌱 The home orchard has pears, nashis, plums and apples, and there is a commercial orchard of feijoa trees. We produce eggs, honey and meat from sheep & cattle for our own needs. We also grow enough calendula flowers to make the calendula infused oil which is an important moisturising ingredient in the Hand Sanitiser, the TLC Balm and the soap 🧼
