Winter can feel isolating. The days are shorter, the nights are colder, and sometimes our wairua can feel a little heavier. That’s why it’s more important than ever to check in on each other.We never know what someone might be carrying. A small act of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s day, and it doesn’t take much.

Here are a few simple ways to awhi those around you:

📞 Send a quick text to a friend or whānau member. “Kei te pēhea koe?” might be just what they need to hear
🏡 Drop off some soup or a warm meal to a neighbour or kaumātua
🫶 Show up with your presence; a kōrero, a cuppa, a listening ear

Let’s look after each other this winter. Hauora is not just individual, it’s collective and a little awhi goes a long way.
