This is an awesome opportunity for our Rangatahi to gain skills and experience operating a Forklift and will be a great tohu to have.

More fun and frolics on the Tarawera River, with sprint time trials down the course, followed by a full afternoon of head to head knockout races whilst negotiating slalom gates. Get a team of 6 paddlers together and enter this awesome competition and experience the Tarawera River Grade 2 rapids like never before. No experience or rafting gear necessary. Limited to 16 teams, first in first served. $45 per person.

White Ribbon Day promotes safe and healthy relationships within families and raises awareness surrounding violence against women. This year's theme is about flipping the script - "Boys Will Be... The Men We Teach Them to Be". White Ribbon Riders and Mataatua Iwi Ryderz will be arriving around midday.

Continuing to be blown away by our amazing New World teams community support 🙌🏽

This year we launched the inaugural New World Scholarship for a Y13 Tarawera High School student who is moving into tertiary study the following year. It is a way of supporting a student for their hard mahi and dedication to Tarawera High School and giving them some financial assistance getting through their first year of tertiary study. The scholarship is for $1000. New World Kawerau loves helping out the community and this is a way of supporting the new young leaders of tomorrow.

This year the scholarship was awarded to Te Whiu Te Maipi! Congratulations Te Whiu and we wish you all the very best for your study in Arts next year in Hamilton! The added bonus here is that Te Whiu actually is one of our hard working team members here at New World!! (we had no idea of the recipient until the actual prize giving!). Good stuff Te Whiu (we are going to miss you around here!!).
