Important changes affecting residential tenancies to note, whether you are a landlord or a tenant!

Changes to the Residential Tenancies Act 1986 took effect last Thursday 🏡🏘

These include:
- usage of email for as means of communication between landlords and tenants 📨
- allowing the use of an email address as an address for service
- tenancy clauses banning smoking now enforceable in the Tenancy Tribunal

A reminder that NEW tenancy bonds need to be lodged online. Existing bonds are not affected. If you are a landlord and need help with lodging bonds online, you can call 0800 TENANCY (0800 836 262)
