“I started Metabolic Balance in early June 2025, and by December I had lost the 20 kg I originally needed to lose — and more.

I honestly cannot recommend Metabolic Balance highly enough. I took on board Diana’s advice to ‘trust the process’ — and I did. I committed fully, kept things simple, and stayed consistent, with very few ‘naughty moments’.

I feel so much better in myself, and most of the hormonal symptoms I was experiencing are no longer present. Of course, there were a few tough days, but I kept reminding myself not to let one tough day turn into two. Whenever I felt unsure or struggled, I reached out to Diana, asked questions, and felt supported.

Metabolic Balance is absolutely worth the investment. It works — but only if you stay accountable, don’t cheat, and make your ‘why’ stronger than your ‘why not’. An unexpected bonus was that our food bill actually went down, as we were buying fresh vegetables rather than lots of extra processed ingredients.

As we move into autumn, it’s the perfect time to start thinking ahead with our immunity 🍂

One of the most important, and often overlooked nutrient at this time of year is Vitamin D — our “sunshine vitamin.”

Over summer, most of us naturally top up our Vitamin D levels from sunlight… but as the days shorten and we spend more time indoors, those levels can start to drop… right when we need our immune system to be strong heading into winter.

☀️ So why is Vitamin D so important?

• It helps regulate and strengthen the immune system, bones, skin snd cardiovascular health.
• Vitamin D supports the body in fighting off viruses and infections (vit C and zinc are slso important)
• Plays a role in git health and reducing inflammation
• Supports hormonal health, mood and overall wellbeing. In fact there’s not much it doesn’t do!

From a more holistic lens (and something I love from Deanna Minich’s work), we can think of nourishment as colour and light, and Vitamin D is very much about that connection to sunlight, rhythm, and seasonal balance.

While we can’t always rely on sunshine in the cooler months, we can support our bodies through:

🌈 A colourful, whole-food diet
🐟 Foods rich in Vitamin D (like oily fish, eggs)
☀️ Time outdoors whenever possible

And for most supplementation (especially here in NZ)

This is your gentle reminder to be ‘proactive’ - not reactive. Support your immune system now, so your body is more resilient heading into winter.

My clinic Proactive Health has a fresh new look. It’s hard to believe that it’s 20 years since I first set up ProActive Health and crazy to think I’m back where it all started. Luckily I have a husband who builds, paints and is an electrician as together we’ve reinvented this space and 578A Kerikeri Road quite a few times now.

At 58 exercise for me is about improving my mobility, agility, flexibility, strength, stamina, rejuvenating my adrenals, sleeping restoratively, reducing stress and most importantly doing more of what makes me feel good!! When it feels good we produce those feel good endorphins! It’s no longer about being the best, yes I’m super competitive, it’s about using it or loosing it!!

My movement regimen includes Nia dancing, yoga, bush walking, biking fab bike trails with friends and attending a weekly trampolining class!

But of course food matters too!! You absolutely cannot out exercise bad nutrition!!!
