Once again we will be bringing you a dawn service on ANZAC Day ❤️

6am Saturday 25th April at the Kinloch Fire Station!

For anyone looking for something to do on a rainy day… we would love some ANZAC biscuits from the community to share on the day. Please see our last post for details or send us a message 📲

Once again the Kinloch Fire Station will be the place to be on ANZAC morning! Last year we had an amazing turnout and fantastic tribute to our ANZAC soldiers. ❤️‍🩹

WHAT? ANZAC Dawn Parade complete with Milo and Anzac Biscuits 🍪

WHERE? Outside the Kinloch Fire Station! 🚒

WHEN? 6am 25th April

We need a little help from the community to make sure we have enough ANZAC Biscuits for the day. We would appreciate any keen bakers in the community to bake some ANZAC biscuits and drop them to Brian’s house at 18 Kestrel Lane prior to the date. They will be frozen so can be dropped off anytime from now. In disposable containers or bags please. 🙏🏽

We look forward to seeing you all there!

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you see one of these?
“Free hit” isn’t the right answer 😆

For us, it’s simple — water on. And a clear, well-maintained hydrant cover makes a huge difference when we need to get water quickly.

Because many of our hydrants are in grass areas, they can end up looking like this… so we’re launching an “Adopt a Hydrant” competition!

It’s easy to get involved:
📸 Send a before and after photo of a hydrant in Kinloch
📍 Let us know where it’s located
🎉 Go in the draw to win 2 large pizzas, thanks to our mates at Dough Bros Pizzas

🗓 Competition closes April 30th

Let’s keep our hydrants visible and ready when it matters most 👨‍🚒💧

KINLOCH LADIES LUNCH 🤩

We have no words! An idea thought up by a group of local ladies only a couple of months ago and now handing over a $9,500 cheque to the brigade! Outstanding!

The lunch was classy and buzzing with energy! Mark Gower a fantastic Auctioneer and Brenda’s Kinloch Stables a fabulous venue!
Thankyou to everyone who attended, bid generously and those who donated items to make the event possible! The difference this donation will make is huge!

How can we possibly say enough thanks to the amazing ladies who made this happen?! Now that’s a donation that will make a real difference in our fundraising efforts! 🔥🧡

INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY (just a few days late 😉)!

We would like to take the time to acknowledge all the amazing women in the world! 🥰

A nod to our firefighters and amazing women that work behind the scenes to keep our station running! A special mention for the wives, mums, sisters and daughters at home when the siren goes up that play a key role in supporting our volunteers 💛

It has been a huge few weeks for the team with a number of big calls!! 🔥🔥

Structure, car and vegetation fires - the operational crew have all had the opportunity to get on the hose and gain valuable experience with bigger scale call-outs! Getting to work with crews from different brigades to collaborate on these jobs always provides great learning opportunities.

We would like to thank the families and employers of our responders. We know it can put pressure on others when we run out the door and we thank you for the support! 💛

Appreciation post 🙌
Our employer and sponsor board is looking very healthy, and we couldn’t be more grateful. A huge thank you to our employers for supporting us in giving back to our community and local region, and to all the businesses that back what we do. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more about these incredible businesses, so stay tuned.

RESTRICTED FIRE SEASON 🔥

Fire and Emergency New Zealand is moving Bay of Plenty to a restricted fire season at 5pm on Tuesday 13 January, until further notice.

A restricted fire season means a permit is required to light an open-air fire.

Announcing the fire season change, Community Risk Manager Luke Burgess says the recent warm and dry weather means the fire risk across the region has increased.

"In these conditions fire will travel fast and will be difficult for our crews to extinguish.

"Having a restricted fire season gives us greater control of who can burn and when, and we can provide direct fire safety advice to those completing burns."

The public can apply for a permit at www.checkitsalright.nz
Luke Burgess says that although some isolated rain is forecast, it will be predominantly dry, hot and windy which increases the fire danger.

"We are asking the public to take extra care during these conditions."

For fire safety tips and more information about the activities you can and can’t do in a restricted fire season, go to www.checkitsalright.nze

A great start to the year with our first official training last night 🔥

Drafting water out of the lake and establishing a ground monitor! A good challenge to start the year and show some new recruits what it’s all about 😉
