🦀 first camping trip of the year ✔️
days on Moreton Island are honestly my favourite days in the whole world. to me it feels like everyone that crosses on that ferry from Brisbane leaves the pace of the world behind them as they leave the port. And the moment your tyres hit the island sand — your mind immediately softens and your whole body exhales.
you stop looking at your phone for the time and you start looking to the tides and to the placement of the sun in the sky
there’s an invisible agreement that you sign with others that arrive here and it becomes more normal to ask each other questions and directions again, like a green light to return to the way things used to be
the joy and presence in the air is so thick you could slice it, I think that’s it really, the level of presence I beautiful here.
I find people have time to talk, both children and adults play, everyone gets resourceful, helps eachother through the sand and lends a hand not becuase they have to but because they are in a space where they genuinely really want to
there’s so little on your to do list that you find yourself making up random games, finding weird ways to fill your time, time slows right down, 1 day feels like 3, you get sleepy when the sun goes down, you laugh, you let go, the mind empties
there’s a beautiful simplicity to life again that is medicine for the soul
and right before you zip up your tent to sleep you look to the sky and you remember just how tiny a speck you are in a very vast universe — you remember with every cell in your body that this is the point. this is the point. 🌕
