Kia ora Whanau,
For any whanau who may be visiting the Actue clinic in Levin, a gentle reminder the carpark for the clinic is to your right as you come up the driveway.

Family Start is an important kaupapa for Raukawa whānau, providing early, nurturing support to māmā, pāpā, and caregivers during hapūtanga and the first years of a tamaiti’s life. It reflects our commitment as Raukawa to whakamana whānau, strengthen whakapapa connections, and uphold the wellbeing of our mokopuna from the very beginning.

Through manaaki, whakawhanaungatanga, and whakapakari pūkenga, Family Start walks alongside whānau in ways that are culturally grounded and responsive to their lived realities. It recognises the strength already present within whānau and supports them to create safe, loving environments where pēpi can thrive.

For Raukawa, investing in whānau early is about protecting our future — nurturing confident parents, healthy pēpi, and strong identities connected to our whenua, tikanga, and whakapapa.

Ipu Whenua Workshop

Are you wanting to do something intentional and meaningful for your whenua — your placenta?

Join us alongside other hapū whānau to create your own ipu whenua, a vessel to hold your placenta with care and respect.
Your ipu will be handcrafted using uku (clay), a natural material that will return gently back to our treasured whenua when laid to rest.
