⚠️ Measles Update – Cases Confirmed in Manawatū and Nelson

Kia ora e te whānau,

Three new measles cases have been confirmed — two in Manawatū and one in Nelson, including two tamariki. These are in addition to the Auckland case reported earlier this week.

🦠 Measles is highly contagious and can cause serious illness. During the 2019 outbreak, 1 in 3 people with measles needed hospital care.

👩‍⚕️ Contact tracing is underway, and Te Whatu Ora is supporting all affected individuals. There may be undetected community transmission, so please stay alert.

✅ Protect yourself and your whānau:
• Make sure everyone in your whare has had 2 doses of the MMR vaccine
• Check for locations of interest here:

• Learn more about the MMR vaccine:

• Know the symptoms of measles:

If you think you or someone in your whānau might have measles, call Healthline on 0800 611 116 or your doctor — do not visit the clinic in person.
