Kickstart your career with a paid Summer internship on one of Aotearoa’s most significant infrastructure projects!
About the Ōtaki to North Levin Project:
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA)

are working together to build a safer, more reliable and more efficient State Highway 1 from Ōtaki to north of Levin.
This transformative project is being delivered using a two-alliance approach, with each alliance delivering a section of the 24km highway and associated works. Together alliance partners are working to create a positive legacy for the region, led by our project principles to tread lightly with the whenua and create an enduring legacy. We are seeking excellent people for this unique opportunity to work and collaborate with leading industry organisations.
Summer Internship Opportunities:
The South Alliance is now welcoming applications from students interested in joining the Ō2NL project for a placement during the summer break (November–February). The roles offer a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience on a nationally significant infrastructure project, working alongside leading industry organisations.
Whether you're currently studying or a school leaver exploring career pathways, If you are keen to gain industry experience before or during your studies, we’d love to hear from you!
Internship Disciplines:
The South Alliance is looking for Summer Interns in the following areas:
• Civil Construction / Engineering (Earthworks, Stormwater & Structures)
• Digital Engineering (CAD and modelling focus)
• Quality Assurance (Gathering and reporting on field data)
• Environmental Sustainability (Initiative development, planning and reporting)
