Please note the recent changes to visitors rules in light of current Omicron outbreak & ever increasing number of infections in our community. Stay safe everyone x
π’ In response to increasing cases of COVID-19 across our region, we are making some important changes to our COVID readiness levels, to ensure that we keep our patients, staff and community safe.
This means that from 8am Monday 28 February, there will be a change in visiting restrictions at Hutt Hospital.
Generally, no visitors will be permitted for general inpatients at Hutt Hospital. There are exceptions to this including nominated Kaitiaki/Partners in care, who may visit at any time.
General visitor restrictions in some other areas at Hutt Hospital also look different. Please make sure you read the full visitor policy before making plans, and call ahead if you are unsure.
π Emergency Department: One parent or caregiver can attend with a child under 16. A support person may accompany a patient with disabilities, communication difficulty, or in the event of critical illness.
π Child health services and child outpatient appointments: One parent/legal guardian/support person to accompany a child. This person can be swapped out with another.
π Maternity: One support person can accompany a patient during labour and after birth. Following birth, one nominated support person (the same person, or in place of that person) may visit.
π Maternity assessment unit/outpatient clinics: One support person may accompany a patient attending a scan or sensitive appointment.
π SCBU: Parents may visit, one at a time. No siblings or other whΔnau.
