Thank you Malia for the kind words and insight into your visit. We saw that you mentioned you wish all dentist were as kind as our clinician but we have to commend them on their involvement as well.

We are clinical dental technicians (CDTs), which is different in both practice and certification than a dentist. Your dentist is responsible for overseeing your total oral health care. Though they might recommend you come and see us. A CDT, however, is responsible for providing specialised care to patients regarding removable dental appliances. CDTs and dentists work together directly or behind the scenes and often rely on one another to ensure a patient's denture treatment will yield the best results.

If you don't know where to start in your denture treatment journey give us a call to schedule a free consultation. We're here to help make it easier for you to get the care you need and deserve.

📢 Repair walk-ins now accepted at Lower Hutt and Porirua clinics!

We understand how breaks can impact your independence and confidence. However. it's important that you don't try to fix the repair yourself. This can lead to future complications or make it impossible for a CDT to repair the dentures.

Give us a call and come in for a free assessment to discuss the repair and what can be done to prevent future breaks.

Following a denture routine can seem a bit tedious which is why we have these easy to follow steps.

1. Brush your teeth and gums in the morning. This removes any bacteria that accumulated overnight.

2. Wear your dentures only during the day, usually for 8-10 hours max.

3. Chew soft and small foods. Dentures can't bite through the hard or tough foods that your natural teeth can.

4. Take your dentures out for bedtime. Doing this gives your gums a break and time to breathe.

5. Brush your dentures with dish soap. Using a soft toothbrush and liquid dish soap helps remove bacteria and food debris. This method also doesn't wear down the denture material.

6. Place cleaning tab in water. This extra step is another way to have clean dentures and maintain good oral health.

7. Soak your dentures overnight. The material your dentures are made from dry out very easily and when you aren't wearing them you should be keeping them wet or moist.
