Did you know the benefits of these wonderful tasty fungi are?

Mushrooms are exceptionally good for you. They are low-calorie, nutrient-dense fungi rich in fiber, potassium, selenium, and B vitamins. Sumner Beach yesterday, I love these days when winter is nigh but we are given a day’s reprieve to enjoy the warmth the wind carries from overseas and once again we can feel the joys of summer rays.

I met this awe inspiring woman April 9th 2025, she was very unwell and came with a very sad prognosis which she absolutely refused to own but instead she wore a big smile and on days when she couldn’t move so well she still came along to the gym anyway, maybe it was just 5 minutes on the treadmill followed by some breathing exercises and gentle movement or as much as her body would allow.

Her smile masked her pain, she lived only in the moment and celebrated every win, she spoke only of recoverery and the support of her medical team, and her prescious daughter. She didn’t blame, she wasn’t angry she was just focused on getting well.

Today, I noticed Suzanne on the treadmill, she was beaming ear to ear, she had just been given the news from her doctor that all the hard work had paid off.

One year ago she was told to get her affairs in order today she celebrates at least another 5 years, I have no doubt that Suzanne will outlive most of us.

Congratulations my sweet lady, own your recovery, you are one special gal!!!

I am still buzzing from a great Exercise NZ Conference Lite in Christchurch, a chance to once again mingle with the best in the Industry, to learn and keep moving forward. Thank you Brad Norris for challenging how we think? Dave Liow for keeping us safe and injury free via functional movement, Ian O’Dwyer (legend) for your insights to moving and breathing through life. My dear friend Corinne Austin for reminding me of the importance of having fun and laughter and my lovely buddy Alice for reminding us that age is only a perception. I couldn’t get to everyone but Marietta’s is one never to be missed. This was the best conference I have attended, it was smooth, ExNZ made each and everyone important referring to all by first name.
